Almost Discouraged

Ahhhh. I find that people are most comfortable in their holes sheltered from reality and left alone. Sure, who wouldn't be? It is safest to stay on course and not travel an unknown path. Yet, if no one ever colored outside of the lines then life would never evolve. We would not have electricity, indoor plumbing and on and on. We all know the dramatics I could go on using. Still... we all shy away from the people asking for signatures for petitions and for donations outside of your local Wal-Mart or "all-in-one" store, as I like to refer to them. I am guilty of that too. But here I am pouring my heart out, creating pages and new emails to "not offend" anyone and what in the world am I worried about?

NO ONE IS READING OR LISTENING ANYWAY!

Almost discouraging (thanks for trying so effortlessly) and absolutely pathetic and sad. Are some of the people whom I thought were my friends really my friends? Probably not. I think it really is the goal of the MySpace users to simply see how many friends they can rack up. Who can keep track of 2,000 friends anyway? People come and go in our lives, but I have to say that I am truly disappointed in many of mine. I know people are busy with their little ones and work and what have you, but really. You can't spare a few minutes away from the Wiggles, Desperate Housewives or ESPN to check out reality? Too harsh for you? GOOD! Life is harsh and some children never make it to 2 years old. Think about that for a moment and then go hug your TV.

I've received some pretty abrasive emails and comments lately and here is my most polite advice to you folks...obviously you are not that close to me and don't know me that well. If you did, you would have found a different way to communicate with me. AND, if you have nothing nice or constructive to say, then simply keep your comments to yourself. You can ask to be taken out of my email address book and you can delete yourself from my MySpace pages and no hard feelings. It is all a choice and I do understand. There is more to life than being wrapped up in one's self. Get over it.

I relish those of you who look deeper and beyond and who don't complicate life. You see it for what it is and if buying a rubber bracelet or giving $5 makes a small difference, you can life without your Chai Latte for one day. Thank you. Your mind, heart and soul is in the right place and I admire you.

I am taking a small break to focus on my amazing and beautiful family as we approach some very fun family milestones and, of course, the end of summer and start up of the holiday season.

But don't worry...I am still working to support children's causes and will make a difference as best I can. What better thing can I teach my son than to be someone who cares and to stand up for the things he believes in...whatever he decides those beliefs will be.
